Highlands Middle School
5th & 6th Grade Bands

The Highlands Middle School Band involves over 250 students from the 5th - 6th grades.  Fifth and sixth-grade bands meet every day and separately by sections, brass and percussion with Mr. Lago and woodwinds with Ms. Hunsberger.  This teaching approach helps students draw greater meaning from the music they listen to, perform, improvise, and compose.  It also provides many opportunities for individualized help and instruction at these levels

A note from our Principal:
As a community, we are truly blessed to have such an outstanding band program here in Northview Public Schools.  The ability to consistently maintain such high standards in terms of performance and reputation does not come easily. 

​Mr. Wells, Mr. Marlowe , and Mr. Lago have created a culture of excellence.  This culture's foundation is built upon relationships, dedication and high expectations.

The Northview Band Program plays a huge part in helping the district meet it's mission statement of "Our Best, Your Best".  It is truly a powerful experience to watch them perform.  We are blessed.
